At Idaho Surrogacy Center, every step of your surrogacy journey–from the fertility process, pregnancy, delivery, and post-delivery–will be carefully guided and coordinated. A gestational carrier is a woman who volunteers to carry a baby for someone. For those who are unable to have children of their own, surrogacy is their answer. Surrogacy involves transferring the embryo into another woman who will carry the baby.

We are very discerning in our surrogate selection. The women have a strong desire to help another family bring a new life into the world.

What does the process involve?

  • The introduction of a potential surrogate to the future parents

  • The medical and psychological screening of surrogate, surrogate partner, and future parents

  • The creation of a contract between the two parties outlining the specifics of the surrogacy

  • In vitro fertilization of the embryo

  • An ultrasound at 6-7 weeks to determine a valid pregnancy

Qualifications to be a Surrogate

  • Must have delivered a live-born child at term

  • Must undergo a complete medical exam (obstetric and lifestyle history, physical exam, infectious disease screening, and uterine cavity assessment)

  • Surrogate candidate and spouse (partner) must have a psychological evaluation

  • If married, have a spouse who is supportive of your decision to become a Gestational Surrogate

  • If single, have a support system in place, whether it is a friend or relative

  • Are not on government assistance
